Sulfate free shampoos:
Here is why you should switch to sulfate-free shampoos: Imagine washing your hair with a dishwashing liquid or a cloth cleaning bar…NEVER! right? We don’t realize that we are in some way doing it in the form of using shampoo and conditioner which consist of sulfate in high amount. Before having a look at the list of sulfate-free shampoos available in India, let’s have a quick understanding of what sulfates are.
So what are sulfates?
Most of our household cleanings products such as dish detergent and laundry contain sulfate in it, and so as our shampoos and conditioners. Sulfates are a common foaming agent added to cleaning products from our daily household cleaning products to cosmetics and hair care products. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is the most commonly found sulfate in shampoos and conditioners. While sulfate in shampoo gives a good lather and also helps in removing dirt and oil from our hair and scalp, it also strips natural oil from our hair, thus making the hair rough, dry, and brittle.
Why switch to sulfate free shampoo?
Whether you are looking for a gentle hair cleanser or a good sulfate free shampoo for keratin treated hair, going sulfate free will definite help your hair grow healthy over time.
Sulfate free shampoos are mostly free of harsh chemicals. It keeps the hair from attracting any extra chemicals or chemical build ups. It also decreases hair dryness, reduces frizz and keeps the scalp healthy. The down side is that products that are sulfate free usually don’t give much lather.
So, in today’s post I am going to list best sulfate free shampoos that are available in India.
WOW Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo
WOW Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo is infused with Natural Apple Cider Vinegar, making it their best-selling shampoos. Apple cider vinegar encourages healthy hair growth helps hair retain more moisture helping to prevent split ends . Apple cider vinegar helps to balance the pH of hair and scalp, stimulating better circulation to the hair follicles, which in turn strengthens hair roots. The product is free of sulfates as well as parabens, thus the product takes some effort to lather. However, when the hair is washed using lukewarm water, it lathers like magic. Don’t forget to use cold water at the end of the hair wash to close the open hair follicle. I suggest you use a conditioner after the wash because it adds a lot of volume to hair (which might make your hair look frizzy) so a good conditioner with giving your hair a more settled look. Apart from that, it does makes the hair shiny, controls frizz, and making it more manageable. READ FULL REVIEW HERE
