DIY: Nourishing hair Mask For Dry Hair

Hello everyone!

How was your weekend? Hope you all had a wonderful time. By the way it’s Tibetan New Year Today, Wishing all my Tibetan friends and readers a very Happy and Blessed year! 🙂

Last  week I had nothing much to do so I decided to give my hair a little pamper. I feel, at times, even using the best conditioner doesn’t give our hair  enough nourishment  that it requires. I decide to try something natural as it’s more safe and also saves us from any more chemical buildup on scalp. I  tried egg yolk and olive oil hair mask on my hair and also dragged my cousin to try it. I found it quite effective so though to share it with you all . 🙂

DIY natural hair mask for dry hair

Ingredients :

  • Egg yolk
  • olive oil

Instructions:

Step 1. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white.

step 2. Pour it in the mixing bowl. I am using 2 egg yolks. You can use how much ever depending to your hair length and thickness.

Step 3. Add 2 tsp of olive oil ( I am using the bottle cap) : Ratio is 1 egg yolk onto 1 tsp olive oil

Step 4. Mix it well. Once the concoction looks frothy , it’s ready !

Direction to apply: Damp your hair and began applying the mixture from the end of your hair. I prefer not applying it on my scalp as i have very oily scalp. I have the most annoying hair quality. It is dry, like really dry, at the end and oily scalp. Imagine the pain!  Ok… Drama aside, what next?  After applying the hair mask on your hair, cover your head with a shower cap and then  Leave it for a good long 20 minutes. Wash it as usual. Shampoo and then condition. Make sure you use cold water to rinse your hair , use warm water only if you want to cook the egg yolk on your head . 😛

Thank you for reading . I hope you’ll give it a try and let me know your thoughts on this DIY nourishing hair mask.

  2. I love using natural products especially those I can make myself. I will definitely be trying this one soon! I color my hair and it naturally has a lot of body so it gets very dry. Thanks for the tip!

  3. Looks like something I would like to try. I am just worried about how it would smell? I don’t like the smell of raw eggs. Maybe if I add a little essential oil to it, like lavender perhaps.
