Herbal essences bio renew shampoo

After going through multiples bloggers flaunting the herbal essences shampoo and conditioner on their handle with mostly positive reviews, I decided to try the shampoo. I ordered repair argan oil of morocco herbal essences with no second thought.

The product description says ” repair shampoo argan oil of morocco herbal essences bio renew, with an essential antioxidant, helps purify and protect against what your hair gets used to over time. The result? soft, free flowing hair. This shampoo is pH balanced and safe for color treated hair” .

Impressive right? But the product disappointed me to an extent that I stopped using it after two months. I wanted to stop using it after first month itself, but then I thought it was too early to review the product. I decided to give it a chance to prove me wrong. Sadly, it failed to impress me.

My experience with herbal essences repair argan oil of morocco shampoo-

First wash felt amazing. It did make my hair thoroughly clean and my hair strands felt softer.

The shampoo lathers like magic and smell heavenly. However, after 2 to 3 wash I could actually feel my hair turning dry and brittle . It didn’t work like the first time wash. I then decided to switch to my regular shampoo and keep this aside only for ones in a week hair wash routine. I could see that regular use of this shampoo in a way dries the hair, whereas when I used it only ones in a week, it was still ok.

Also, it says that this shampoo is safe for colored hair, but in my case my hair color (which was done just a week before I stared using the shampoo) would rinse with the shampoo like crazy.

Herbal essences bio renew shampoo Ingredients-

The ingredients of the shampoo is also pretty confusing and scary at the same time. As I looked at the ingredient list, I could see more of sodium and sulfates. According to my research, I find that sodium chloride can affect the color of your hair and dehydrate the strands. (correct me if I am wrong) If so, how can this shampoo be color safe?

My overall reaction on Herbal essences bio renew shampoo-

I love the fragrance of the shampoo, the shampoo bottle looks great, quantity is another plus point. 400 ml for Rs 600 ( I got it for much cheaper on Nykaa tho). What I didn’t like was the way it did nothing to my hair, except clean. I know that’s what shampoos are for, but if a shampoo makes your hair feel fried or causes you hair fall, then it’s a sign that it is not working on your hair type. By the way, my hair type is dry (mostly oily at the scalp region).

Would I buy this product again?

No! I am just done with this. Also, with that price range I would rather get a better shampoo for myself.
